Robot Butt recently published a piece of mine, Fuck You, Diabetes (An Un-Love Letter), and they are having a little contest to see which of their April published pieces can get the most traffic. Please help me out by clicking here to read my un-love letter to Diabetes. The contest goes through April 30.

I was diagnosed with diabetes on August 11, 2011. About two months later, we realized that I have Type 1 Diabetes, not the Type 2 with which I was diagnosed. Diabetes is mostly a scary, progressive, sometimes fatal, unrelenting pain in the ass. But it has also pushed me to work harder toward goals and never hesitate because there isn’t a single day of good health (or even just a day) that can be taken for granted. I choose to see the good in it because it’s there and I have to in order to have a fucking fantastic life!
I liked the letter. Sorry you have to suffer with the disease.

Thank you. 🙂 I never call it suffering. Struggling, at times. Surviving, sometimes. But “thriving in spite of” is what I’m always shooting for!

It’s so awesome that this challenge has made you even more resolute, instead of the contrary. Am wishing you a great time during your journey, and I enjoyed reading that un-love letter of yours!
